Limited 180gm vinyl LP pressing. One of the finest pianists and composers of the hard bop era, Sonny Clark arrived fully formed on his supremely swinging 1957 Blue Note debut, Dial "S" for Sonny. Clark assembled a top-flight sextet for the occasion with Art Farmer (trumpet), Curtis Fuller (trombone), Hank Mobley (tenor saxophone), Wilbur Ware (bass), and Louis Hayes (drums). Blue Note Classic Vinyl Series is all-analog, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original master tapes.

Issued with a diamond-cut, plain white, poly-lined inner sleeve, this Blue Note Classic Vinyl Edition features a "Blue Note Classic Vinyl Series" sticker on the shrink wrap. Additionally, it may include a "Made in Germany" sticker on the back.

Recorded on July 21, 1957, this mono, all-analog edition has been mastered by Kevin Gray from the original master tapes and pressed on 180g vinyl at Optimal.

The labels display the title as "Dial S For Sonny" by the "Sonny Clark Sextet."

The back cover notes that this is a Blue Note Records release, originally released in 1957, and is a copyright of 2022 UMG Recordings Inc. The record was made in the EU, and Blue Note® is a registered trademark of Capitol Records, LLC.
