Limited 180 gram vinyl LP pressing. "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars" is the fifth studio album by David Bowie, loosely based on the story of a fictional rock star named Ziggy Stardust. The album narrates the tale of Ziggy, a rock star serving as a messenger for extraterrestrial beings. Known for its glam rock influences, themes of sexual exploration, and social commentary, the album and the character of Ziggy Stardust stirred controversy due to the ambiguity surrounding Bowie's sexuality. The groundbreaking performance of "Starman" on Top of the Pops further fueled the album's notoriety. Over time, it has been recognized as a seminal work, consistently regarded as one of the greatest albums of all time, with Rolling Stone magazine ranking it as the 35th greatest ever.
