Vinyl LP pressing. Digitally remastered edition of Dee Dee's debut album. Recorded in Tokyo in 1974, the album was originally released exclusively in Japan via two different Japanese labels. Afro Blue features an exquisite collaboration of American and Japanese musicians, such as Cecil and Ron Bridgewater, Motohiko Hino, and producer Takao Ishizuka. The result is a sublime deep soul-jazz masterpiece with timeless versions of 'People Make The World Go Round', 'Love From The Sun', and 'Afro Blue'. It is arguably one of the finest albums in its genre. This deep debut soul-jazz masterpiece was recorded in Tokyo in 1974 and features iconic tracks such as 'People Make The World Go Round', 'Love From The Sun', and 'Afro Blue'. This is an official Mr Bongo reissue, licensed from All Art Promotion through Ultra-Vybe. The album was recorded and mixed at AOI Studios, Tokyo, on the 10th, 12th-14th of March, 1974, and manufactured by Trio Records, Tokyo. The original sleeve replica includes the Trio Records logo on the front and back, with the Mr Bongo label name and catalog number on the spine. The original centre labels replica features the Trio Records logo and catalog number, with the Mr Bongo catalog number and matrix in the runouts. Additionally, this record comes with a replica of the insert sheet from the original Japanese release, containing liner notes in Japanese on one side and lyrics in English on the other. The runouts are etched, with optimal plating symbols '1+' and '1=' mirrored.
