Swedish prog-rock legends The Flower Kings present their latest full-length album, "By Royal Decree," marking a significant milestone in their 25-year history. This album, the band's third studio release since welcoming drummer Mirko DeMaio and keyboardist Zach Kamins, embodies a vintage sound that harkens back to their roots. With a hiatus from touring over the past two years, the band had the opportunity to delve into recording new material and revisiting previously unreleased tracks. Lead singer and guitarist Roine Stolt reflects on the process of creating this record, stating, "It was great to rediscover the 'forgotten TFK music before TFK ever existed' and reconnecting with it reminded me of the essence of The Flower Kings. This album serves as a journey through my evolution as a songwriter and reflects on my 'middle age' experiences." Noteworthy is the return of founding member Michael Stolt after a hiatus of more than two decades, adding his touch on bass and vocals alongside current bassist Jonas Reingold. This release comes as a 180g triple vinyl LP housed in a gatefold and single sleeve inside a slipcase, accompanied by 2CDs and a booklet.
