Vinyl LP pressing. Slang's debut album, "Cockroach In A Ghost Town," is a powerful force of nature that emerged seemingly out of nowhere. Lyricist, singer, and guitarist Drew Grow, along with drummer and singer Janet Weiss, founded the band over a decade ago in Portland, Oregon. Both musicians have dedicated more than half of their lives to creating and performing music. Over the years, Weiss has collaborated with a diverse range of artists, from her bands Quasi, Wild Flag, and Sleater-Kinney, to musicians like Elliott Smith and Stephen Malkmus. Grow has led his own bands such as Modern Kin and the Pastors' Wives, while also producing for other artists. What began as a side project blossomed into something special when these two talents crossed paths. Initially performing as a duo, Slang reimagined songs by the Everly Brothers, the Traveling Wilburys, and Jackson C. Frank, infusing them with their unique harmonies and musical style.
