Soul Jazz Records presents 'Cold Wave,' a collection of current electronic artists influenced by the early European cold wave artists of the late 70s and early 80s. The second edition, Cold Wave #2, is available in two vinyl editions - a purple colored vinyl and a black vinyl. Both editions are heavyweight double vinyls housed in bespoke individual inner sleeves. The limited edition first pressing includes a free pull-out fanzine on the featured groups. The CD edition comes with an artist booklet/fanzine and slipcase, all printed in a special dayglo color finish. The pioneering artists of the past created new electronic landscapes, embracing a D-I-Y aesthetic, and often utilizing lo-fi technology, primitive drum machines, and home-recording techniques. Today, many of the artists featured here continue this spirit by self-releasing their material, running labels, publishing fanzines, or being part of musical collectives. In addition to the early influences such as Suicide, Patrick Cowley, The Normal, and others, this new generation of artists draws from a wide range of electronic and disparate influences, from Underground Resistance to Purcell, Scientist, New Beat, and more. The featured artists, mostly based in Europe, include Krikor from France, Beta Evers and L. F. T. from Germany, Lena Willikens, Job Sifre, and De Ambassade from the Netherlands, Toulouse Low Trax from Germany, Dave I. D. and
