Limited 180gm vinyl LP pressing. Sonny Clark was the quintessential hard bop pianist, known for his lyrical flow, inventive melodic ideas, and deep-rooted feeling for the blues. In 1958, Clark created his masterwork, "Cool Struttin'," with a quintet including Art Farmer, Jackie McLean, Paul Chambers, and 'Philly' Joe Jones. Despite his premature death at age 31 in 1963, the album has only grown in stature. The Blue Note Classic Vinyl Edition is all-analog and mastered from the original tapes.
