Cosmic Thing is the fifth studio album by new wave band The B-52's, released in 1989. It features the hit singles "Love Shack" and "Roam". The album marked a significant comeback for the band following the passing of guitarist Ricky Wilson in 1985. Produced by Nile Rodgers in New York City for six tracks and by Don Was in upstate New York for the remaining four, the album showcases a blend of styles. The band supported the album with the Cosmic Tour. This listing offers a limited vinyl LP pressing of the album.

All tracks were recorded and mixed at Skyline Studios in NYC. The Nile Rodgers cuts were recorded digitally and mixed analog.

Don Was sessions:
All tracks were recorded at Dreamland Recording Studio in West Hurley, NY, with pre-production at Bearsville Studios in Bearsville, NY. The album was mixed at various studios in NYC. All Don Was tracks were recorded and mixed analog.

This record was released in 1989 under Reprise Records and was made in the E.U. All songs are published by Man Woman Together Now! BMI Administered by Irving Music, except for track B1, which is published by Man Woman Together Now! Administered by Irving Music BMI (copyright control).

The album includes a printed inner sleeve containing lyrics, credits, and a photograph.

The runouts are etched besides MASTERED BY CAPITOL 178965E1/A on side A and 178965E2/A on side B, which are stamped. Variant 2 1035835 is also stamped.
