It represented a departure from the Chicago house sound of their debut album, "Homework" (1997), embracing a house style infused with disco, post-disco, garage house, and R&B influences. Recorded in Paris between 1998 and 2000, the album showcases extensive sampling, with some samples sourced from older records and others created by Daft Punk through live instrument performances. Collaborating with fellow electronic musicians Romanthony, Todd Edwards, and DJ Sneak, the album features a blend of musical and lyrical contributions across various tracks.
