Limited clear vinyl LP pressing. 2021 release. Field Music returns with "Flat White Moon." Following their series of critically acclaimed albums that have seen them nominated for a Mercury Music Prize, perform on BBC's Later with Jools Holland, and tour on both sides of the Atlantic, "Flat White Moon" began with the desire to play and have fun. The initial recordings emphasized a looser performance aspect, inspired by some of their earliest musical influences: Free, Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin, and The Beatles. This playfulness became a way to counterbalance the darkness and sadness of many of the lyrics. Field Music takes on the challenge of representing negative emotions in a way that doesn't dilute or obscure them but can still uplift. The result is a generous record of abundant musical ideas, making "Flat White Moon" perhaps Field Music's most immediately gratifying album to date.
