180gm black colored vinyl LP pressing. After a 3-year residency as the lead guitarist in Frank Zappa's band, Steve Vai dedicated most of 1983 to studio recordings. These sessions led to the 1984 release of Flex-Able, marking Vai's debut as a solo artist. The standout instrumental track, "The Attitude Song," was highlighted in the October 1984 issue of Guitar Player magazine as the first sound sheet Flexi Disc. This track quickly solidified Vai's reputation as an innovative and powerful force in guitar pyrotechnics. Flex-Able played a crucial role in Vai's career, setting the stage for his involvement with Alcatrazz, David Lee Roth's band, Whitesnake, and the creation of his platinum-selling follow-up album, Passion & Warfare. The 2020 remastering of Flex-Able by Bernie Grundman, using the original 1/4" analog master tapes, showcases the meticulous attention to detail in the refurbishing and re-release packaging of this iconic album.
