Picture disc edition. Fresh off his three-year residency as the lead guitarist in Frank Zappa's band, Steve Vai dedicated the majority of 1983 to studio work. These sessions led to the 1984 release of Flex-Able, marking Vai's debut as a solo artist. The standout instrumental track, "The Attitude Song," was notably featured in the October 1984 issue of Guitar Player magazine as the first sound sheet Flexi Disc. This track quickly solidified Vai's reputation as an innovative force in guitar pyrotechnics. Flex-Able played a crucial role in Vai's career, setting the stage for his involvement with Alcatrazz, David Lee Roth's band, Whitesnake, and the creation of his platinum-selling second album, Passion & Warfare. The 2020 remaster of Flex-Able, overseen by Bernie Grundman using the original 1/4" analog master tapes, showcases a meticulous refurbishing and re-release packaging, ensuring a top-notch listening experience for fans and audiophiles alike.
