Hotel Surrender

At the beginning of 2020, following a year of touring worldwide in support of 2019's "Run Fast Sleep Naked," Nick Murphy embarked on creating music that resonated with pure joy. Despite having put his highly successful Chet Faker project on hold four years earlier, the new tracks he crafted in his New York City studio exuded a vibe reminiscent of his earlier acclaimed work. Reviving the project was not initially in Murphy's plans, but before he knew it, a complete album had materialized. The outcome is "Hotel Surrender," a vibrant 10-track LP featuring bold bass lines and captivating melodies that reintroduces Chet Faker to the world - and to Murphy himself. Similar to his debut album, 2014's "Built on Glass," Murphy independently wrote and produced "Hotel Surrender," finalizing most of the songs prior to the onset of COVID-19 in March 2020. He acknowledges that prior to "Hotel Surrender," he had never experienced such a seamless creative process.
