Back in 1994, when Lambchop first emerged, they were perceived as unconventional and destined for niche audiences. The Nashville collective, consisting of eleven musicians, chose the name Lambchop, released an album with two titles, and featured a provocative painting on the cover. Despite their eccentricities, the album received recognition, landing a spot in NME's Top 50 Albums of the Year and ranking 25th in Les Inrockuptibles' list. What started as a weekly gathering of musicians in a basement led to the creation of a record that surpassed expectations. Disheveled yet tender, anarchic yet intricate, I Hope You're Sitting Down / Jack's Tulips marked the beginning of a career marked by reinvention and unconventional creativity. Lambchop's ever-evolving lineup continues to defy expectations, with Wagner standing out as a cryptic yet essential voice in music. Despite its initial peculiarity, the album remains a wonderful and enduring piece of art over twenty-five years later.

FIRST TIME ON VINYL IN THE U.S.
"...country enough to betray the Nashville heritage, and un-country (clarinets, saxophones, etc.) sufficiently to demonstrate Lambchop's obdurate weirdness." -- Uncut
