This album marked the band's final release with MCA Records. Produced by Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne, following the success of "Full Moon Fever," the album features the hit single "Learning to Fly," which spent six weeks at the top spot on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. Tom Petty, renowned as the lead singer of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, was also a member of the supergroup the Traveling Wilburys and the early band Mudcrutch. With a musical style encompassing rock and roll, heartland rock, and stoner rock, Petty's songs have become classics on adult contemporary and classic rock radio stations.
