Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1 is the second solo studio album by the English singer George Michael, originally released on 3 September 1990. The album marked Michael's final release of all-new material on Columbia Records until 2004's Patience. Following the immense success of his 1987 Faith album, expectations were high for this follow-up. Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1 presented a significant departure from its predecessor, featuring predominantly acoustic instrumentation and a poignant intensity in its lyrics and melodies. George Michael aimed to establish himself as a serious songwriter, resulting in a more introspective and often melancholic record. The album reached #2 on the US Billboard 200 chart.
