On August 12, 2011, Sonic Youth performed their final US show on an outdoor stage overlooking the East River at the Williamsburg Waterfront in Brooklyn. It was a fitting conclusion to their storied career, which began 30 years prior in New York City. The band delivered a powerful 17-song set that showcased tracks from their first studio album to their latest, demonstrating a band with a lot to prove. Following this performance, Sonic Youth fulfilled a festival run in South America a few months later. However, the group's dynamic had shifted irreparably, and the subsequent festival appearances lacked the same impact. Now, newly remixed and remastered, "Live in Brooklyn 2011" is available for the first time on vinyl and CD.
