Wojtek Mazolewski Quintet - LIVE SPIRIT is a recording of a two-day residency at Katowice's Hipnoza club, released especially for RSD 2024.

New times, new lineup, new formula. Wojtek Mazolewski Quintet, with a refreshed lineup, performed a series of concerts in an innovative format named LIVE SPIRIT.

Instead of touring and playing individual concerts, the band hosted multi-day club residencies in various Polish cities, starting with Krakow and Katowice. Here, WMQ pays homage to the rich jazz traditions of club residencies established by legends like Eric Dolphy, John Coltrane, and Miles Davis.

WMQ has once again challenged both itself and its audience.

With the best of intentions, the band pushed boundaries and honored tradition while introducing fresh elements to the contemporary music scene.
