Recorded in Chicago on October 14, 1957, this early stereo recording features left, right, and center channels. Although the artwork references the mono release with MG V-8322, there is no stereo identifier on this version. The initial pressing run includes a non-labelled rice paper inner sleeve and a color insert of the "Acoustic Sound Series" for the first 12 releases starting in 2020.
LP Reissue Supervisor: Chad Kassem, Acoustic Sounds
LP Mastering By: Ryan Smith, Sterling Sound
A Verve Records release; Originally released in 1959 on Verve Records © 2020 UMG Recordings, Inc.
Manufactured and distributed by Universal Music Enterprises, a Division of UMG Recordings, Inc.
Labels indicate it is a Verve Records release, originally from 1959, and © 2020 UMG Recordings, Inc. The long-playing Microgroove record was made in the U.S.A.
The sticker on the shrink wrap front highlights the Acoustic Sounds Series, featuring audiophile vinyl releases from top jazz labels. These releases are mastered from original analog tapes by leading engineers, pressed on 180-gram vinyl at Quality Record Pressings (QRP), and feature gatefold sleeves printed at Stoughton Printing Company.
Runout details show that both sides are etched, with "STERLING" stamped on them.
