Love and Chemicals is the debut album from Southampton-based singer/songwriter Teenage Waitress, also known as Daniel J. Ash. In Daniel's own words, "Love and Chemicals" plays like a collection of short stories or vignettes. He aimed to create a musical patchwork quilt with various textures, styles, and emotions. Having previously written music for a guitar-based indie band, these songs were his first composed with a computer. Embracing the freedom to experiment, he incorporated a wide range of instruments from accordion to drum machines, kazoo to spoons, each contributing to setting the scene for the stories within the album. Daniel pushed himself outside his musical and lyrical comfort zones, resulting in what he considers his best work yet. This 12-track album is a raw explosion of contagious synth-based indie pop. Featuring hit singles like "I Don't Like This Party," "The Mess You Made Me Make," "You Ain't Got It Bad (feat. Blue Canary)," and "I'm Leaving Berlin," which have garnered praise and airplay from Radio X and BBC London.
