Following the success of Mega Man Battle Network in 2001, this beloved sequel launched in Japan just in time for Christmas, with North America and Europe receiving their copies in 2002.

The game mechanics saw significant upgrades, enhancing playability, but it was Yoshino Aoki's captivating score that truly embedded the experience in the hearts of players over twenty years ago. Aoki, known for her work on Breath of Fire III & IV, was already familiar with the Mega Man franchise, having arranged music for Mega Man X3's CD release and performed as a vocalist on the Mega Man Battle & Chase score. For Mega Man Battle Network 2, she took on full composer duties, crafting catchy, melodic tunes that had players revisiting sections of the game just to enjoy the music again.
