Tracks A1 to B4 were recorded at The Record Plant in L.A. Track C2 is previously unreleased in the U.S.A. and Canada, while tracks C3 and C4 are also previously unreleased. Tracks D1 to D4 were recorded live at Hammersmith Odeon in London, U.K. between December 31, 1981, and January 2, 1982.

This 2021 release features mastering and a new mix by Wired Masters in London.

This album is a 40th-anniversary edition of the classic 1981 album, remastered and includes a bonus LP of rarities and live versions. It is packaged in a gatefold sleeve with plain black LP sleeves.
