The lead single, 'Pon de Replay,' peaked at #2 on the Hot 100, while the second single, 'If It's Lovin' That You Want,' reached #6. Rihanna, a Barbadian singer, songwriter, and actress, was born in Saint Michael and raised in Bridgetown. She began her music career by recording demo tapes under the guidance of record producer Evan Rogers in 2003. Rihanna signed a recording contract with Def Jam Recordings after auditioning for its then-president, hip hop producer, and rapper Jay Z.
