Limited edition clear colored LP pressing. Avant-garde chamber pop ensemble The Colorist Orchestra has primarily focused on reimagining other artists' works. Led by Aarich Jespers and Kobe Proesmans, the group utilizes traditional classical and bespoke instrumentation, often played in unorthodox ways, to meticulously transform an invited artist's music into new styles and forms. However, their upcoming collaborative album "Not On The Map" with Giant Sands' Howe Gelb marks a significant departure as they present an entire album of original collaborations. Aarich Jespers characterizes the album as "soft and dark," with a consistent layer of low, muted toms present in nearly every song. The album's tempo is deliberately slow, creating an atmosphere suited for contemplation with a glass of whiskey in hand.
