Drawing inspiration from Orisha stories and Jamael's Los Angeles roots, the album is richly infused with Yoruba spirituality and celestial themes. Several tracks on the album incorporate traditional Yoruba songs and feature vocals from frequent collaborator Sharada Shashidhar. The album's mixing was expertly handled by Leaving Records' Zeroh, while Grammy Award-winning audio engineer and Low End Theory founder Daddy Kev took charge of the mastering.
