Released 2022, UK

Limited 180gm vinyl LP pressing. Includes inner sleeve with lyrics. Known for her time as a vocalist in Fairport Convention and respected globally as Robert Plant's first Alison Krauss (duetting with him on Led Zeppelin's "The Battle Of Evermore"), Sandy Denny left behind a beguiling, ever-evolving body of work. Kate Bush even namechecked her in a song, and Denny's influence can be heard in generations of singer-songwriters. Opening with powerful chords, 1977's "Rendezvous" aimed to give Denny her commercial breakthrough, showcasing an artist in evolution. "Gold Dust" truly highlights how Denny could be seen as the British Joni Mitchell, with its late-night jazz funk backing (featuring Steve Winwood on clavinet) offering a tantalizing glimpse of where Denny's music might have ventured next. The album closes with "No More Sad Refrains," updating her late 60s ballad style. Tragically, Denny passed away less than a year after the album's release, making it a poignant conclusion to a promising career. This re-issue faithfully replicates the original 1977 Island Records UK release, bringing back a piece of music history that has long been out of print on LP.
