In the mid-2000s, Prodigy collaborated with The Alchemist to create new material intended for a mixtape to engage fans before the release of H.N.I.C. Part 2. The quality of the recordings was exceptional, reflecting Prodigy's Mobb Deep roots. The material evolved into the commercial release "Return Of The Mac," featuring classic Blaxploitation style samples by The Alchemist. Prodigy vividly portrays the gritty New York of his upbringing through his lyrics. Upon its release in 2007, it was hailed as one of his best works in years, with Pitchfork acknowledging Prodigy's unexpected comeback. "Return Of The Mac" resonated with fans, reaching #32 on the Billboard Top 200 chart. This vinyl edition, presented in an exclusive opaque red pressing and gatefold jacket, marks its first release on vinyl, available only for RSD 2022.
