Limited 180gm vinyl LP pressing in gatefold jacket. Known for her time as a vocalist in Fairport Convention, Sandy Denny left behind a beguiling and ever-evolving body of work. After departing from Fairport Convention in late 1969, Sandy Denny formed Fotheringay with her husband Trevor Lucas. Following the success of one UK Top 20 LP in the summer of 1970, the band disbanded while working on a follow-up album, allowing Denny to pursue her solo career. Sandy, released in 1972, is arguably the definitive Sandy Denny album. Recorded at John Wood's Sound Techniques studio and produced by Trevor Lucas, the album features special guests such as 'Sneaky' Pete Kleinow from The Flying Burrito Brothers, who enhances 'It'll Take A Long Time' with his unmistakable pedal steel playing, and New Orleans legend Allan Toussaint, who adds a brass arrangement to 'For Nobody To Hear'. However, it is truly Denny's album. Her beautiful and captivating voice, especially showcased on tracks like 'The Lady' and 'Listen, Listen', has the power to stop listeners in their tracks. Out of print on LP for a number of years, this reissue faithfully replicates the original 1972 Island Records UK release.
