Simple Mind Condition

TROUBLE's comeback album "Simple Mind Condition" is re-issued as a deluxe 2CD edition, featuring a "Greatest Hits" set played live known as "Live in Stockholm 2003" on CD 2, all fully remastered. Trouble returns with "Simple Mind Condition" after a long hiatus, twelve years since the release of "Plastic Green Head", soaring once more in the realm of metal. While some complaints and criticism surfaced upon its release, they may not be entirely fair. The fat and doomy stomps reminiscent of "Psalm 9" and "The Skull" are not as abundant, nor are the stoner metal speed assaults of the self-titled "Trouble", which have been absent since its release. "Manic Frustration" was undoubtedly a killer album, albeit different, focusing on hard rock rather than the doom and stoner influences. "Plastic Green Head" addressed this issue admirably, resulting in another exceptional Trouble album. This album showcases well-written songs with sludgy stoner hooks, enveloped in Eric Wagner's (R.I.P.) woe-is-me penmanship. Overall, it is a very good and convincing album that deserves your listening time. While those expecting the past might be slightly disappointed, those who invest time in this album will discover a hidden treasure.
