Digitally remastered edition of this 1988 album from the British outfit. While their first two albums were commercially successful and their "The Colour of Spring" album had found the band moving towards a more sophisticated and mature sound, "The Spirit of Eden" found the band even further away from their earlier works, creating a sound that has now been referred to as Post-Rock. This reissue set includes a heavyweight 180gm vinyl LP pressing and an audio-only DVD-Video (NTSC, Region 0) containing the album in a 96kHz/24 bit LPCM stereo mix. The LP comes in a regular spined sleeve with an inner bag featuring lyrics, while the DVD is housed in a cardboard sleeve tucked inside the vinyl cover. The DVD includes an additional track, "John Cope," originally released in 1988 as a B-side of "I Believe In You." Credits and Mark Hollis' handwritten lyrics are printed on the inner sleeve, and tracks A1 to A3 are a continuous track. The audio on the DVD has been transferred from the original analogue stereo masters at 96kHz/24bit, but the final mix was created from 2" reel-to-reel 24-track tapes, resulting in content limitations above 22kHz. ℗ 1988 The copyright of this compilation is owned by EMI Records Ltd. © 2012 EMI Records Ltd.
