Double vinyl LP pressing. "Take a Look in the Mirror" is the sixth studio album by nu metal band Korn and marks the last studio album to feature their full original lineup. Brian "Head" Welch departed the band shortly after the album's release in 2003, returning in 2013. Formed in 1993, Korn is credited with pioneering the nu metal genre and propelling it into the mainstream. The band draws inspiration from a diverse range of artists including Alice in Chains, Pantera, Cypress Hill, Ice Cube, N.W.A, Rage Against the Machine, Sepultura, Geto Boys, Van Halen, the Pharcyde, Nine Inch Nails, Deftones, Dr. Dre, and Mr. Bungle. Bassist Fieldy has noted that Korn's musical roots lie in hip hop rather than classic rock, stating, "The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin - those bands haven't influenced us in any way. Nobody in the band ever listened to that stuff. Our musical history starts with the Red Hot Chili Peppers and early Faith No More. As a band, that's where we begin."
