The Record Store Day release "The King Is Dead" by the Cutthroat Brothers and Mike Watt was a huge success, leading to a vinyl reissue set to be released on 4/29/2022. The Cutthroat Brothers, a duo of real-life barbers known as the Sweeney Todds of Rock, consist of Jason Cutthroat on vocals & guitar and Donny Paycheck on drums. For this album, "The King Is Dead," the duo collaborated with Punk Rock icon Mike Watt. The LP was produced, mixed, and mastered by Jack Endino, known for his work with bands like Mudhoney, The Sonics, Screaming Trees, L7, and Soundgarden. The album encapsulates the North Pacific sound and features songs that delve into themes such as blood, death, drugs, sex, black magic, and bad relationships, albeit not necessarily in that order.
