Charlotte Cornfield's "The Shape of Your Name" was the inaugural release from Next Door Records, originally launched in April 2019. Next Door Records is proud to present a deluxe reissue of this monumental album in time for the second anniversary of its release. The deluxe reissue consists of the original LP, now pressed on Atlantic Blue vinyl, with a bonus two-track 7" featuring "In My Corner" and "Upstate." According to the original release sheet, Toronto songwriter Charlotte Cornfield expressed, 'You free yourself when you take away the script.' The album showcases a more honed studio sound compared to her previous release, "Future Snowbird," recorded in 5 different sessions over 3 years. Cornfield's songs are described as contemplative, contemporary, funny, and heart-wrenching, with a catchy quality she is known for. Initially not intending to create a record, Cornfield's residency at The Banff Centre led to the creation of these recordings, which she then brought to producer Nigel Ward in Montreal. Together, they allowed the songs to develop naturally, giving them space to evolve.

Various tracks were recorded at Breakglass Studio and Autoland in Montreal, The Banff Centre, and The Immergluck in Toronto. The album was mixed at Breakglass Studio and Autoland in Montreal and mastered in New York.
