Lilly Hiatt found herself at a crossroads upon returning home from an extensive tour in support of her third album, Trinity Lane. Stripped of the familiar routines of life on the road, she turned to her guitar for solace. During the following winter, she poured her thoughts and emotions into a new collection of songs, exploring themes of self-discovery and her place in the world. The result is Walking Proof, her introspective fourth album. Produced by former Cage the Elephant guitarist Lincoln Parish, the record seamlessly blends Hiatt's rock and roll edge with her heartfelt country roots, showcasing a raw vulnerability as she confronts her innermost struggles. The album reflects a newfound maturity in her songwriting, revealing a sense of peace amidst life's uncertainties. With over twenty-five new songs in hand, Hiatt, with Parish's guidance, carefully curated a cohesive eleven-track album. Recorded live with her band in Nashville, Walking Proof features guest appearances from artists like Amanda Shires, Aaron Lee Tasjan, and a special duet with her father, renowned songwriter John Hiatt.
