Ravenously creative songwriter Kurt Vile gained mainstream recognition after years of dedicated work on his craft. Drawing inspiration from music legends like Neil Young, Sonic Youth, and Dinosaur Jr., Vile's laid-back and dreamy guitar rock delves into inventive guitar tones on introspective and often contemplative tracks. Co-founding the War on Drugs in 2005 with friend Adam Granduciel, Vile later decided to focus more on his solo music, leading to a string of albums released on various indie labels. Signing with Matador in 2009 marked a turning point, with each subsequent album garnering increasing success. His 2013 release, "Walkin' on a Pretty Daze," resonated widely, bringing Vile's hazy reflections and distinctive songwriting to a global audience. Known for his frequent collaborations, Vile has worked with a diverse range of artists on his own projects and has co-created albums with musicians such as Steve Gunn and Courtney Barnett.

Recorded in the KV zone at OKV Central (Philly) and in the Rob Schnapf zone at Mant Studios (Glassel Park). "Fo Sho," "Cool Water," "Chazzy," and "Wages" were all Mant all night, while "Exploding" and "Mount Airy" were all OKV Central forever and a day. "Jesus On A Wire" was recorded at Panoramic House (Stinson Beach) with additional engineering at Mant Sounds. All songs were mixed at Mant Sounds, except "(Shiny Things)" and "Kurt Runner," which were mixed at OKV Central. All songs are BMI except "Wages Of Sin," which is UMPG. A limited number of copies came with a signed print. Issued in gatefold jacket with printed inner sleeves. The printed barcode is covered directly on the rear with a stickered barcode. The matrix runout information is a mix of etched and stamped.
