The album features a blend of cool confidence and bright energy, with call-and-response conversations between ensemble parts that reflect the band's years of improvising together on stage. In addition to the core group members - Femi Koleoso on drums, Joe Armon-Jones on keys, James Mollison on saxophone, Ife Ogunjobi on trumpet, and TJ Koleoso on bass guitar - the album also includes guest appearances by Sampa The Great, Kojey Radical, Emile Sande, and Nao. This dynamic collaboration promises to enliven dance floors and provide the perfect soundtrack for summer gatherings. Originally forming in 2012 as teenagers at Tomorrow's Warriors youth band, Ezra Collective has evolved into key figures shaping London's contemporary music scene. Their music seamlessly blends genres like jazz, grime, and afrobeat, creating a fresh and harmonious sound that resonates with audiences on new levels. The fourteen tracks on "Where I'm Meant To Be" were meticulously crafted over eighteen months, showcasing a deliberate creative process influenced by the unique circumstances of lockdown life. This album represents a significant evolution for the band, marked by a newfound sense of patience and depth in their music-making.
