Released 2022, Worldwide

In true Stiff Records fashion, Jake Riviera (Stiff's founder) and Nick Lowe were looking for any opportunity to play with music journalists before the release of Nick's debut solo record. The album, originally titled Jesus of Cool, had to be renamed Pure Pop for Now People for its US release on Columbia. Jake and Nick found amusement in the dual titles, anticipating the resulting confusion. However, they decided to take it a step further by providing journalists with multiple conflicting stories, even going as far as offering fake album titles during interviews. One such title, Wireless World, was mistakenly published by a newspaper as the official title. While Jesus of Cool and Pure Pop for Now People solidified Nick's position in the power pop scene, the notion of Wireless World quickly dissipated. Now, after more than 40 years since its initial mention, Wireless World is finally being released on LP. This album combines the track listings of Jesus of Cool and Pure Pop for Now People into one cohesive studio album. Wireless World will be available for Record Store Day Black Friday 2020 on dustbin green vinyl.
