'Wish You Were Here' is the ninth studio album by Pink Floyd, released in 1975. The album features songs that critique the music industry and express feelings of alienation. One of the standout tracks, "Shine On You Crazy Diamond," serves as a tribute to Syd Barrett, a founding member who departed the band following their debut album 'The Piper at the Gates of Dawn'. The record achieved commercial success and has been recognized on Rolling Stone's "500 Greatest Albums of All Time" and "50 Greatest Prog Rock Albums" lists. Band members Gilmour and Wright have cited it as their favorite Pink Floyd album, with many fans and critics considering it the band's magnum opus.
